Visits to Heaven

As many of you probably already know, Heaven is for Real—a story based on young boy's trip to heaven—hit the theaters last week. Yesterday, I watched a video by David Platt that explains why Heaven is for Real and other stories like it aren't at all biblical. I highly recommend watching it, especially if you believe that visits to heaven are real.

John MacArthur wrote a great article on the same matter for Answers in Genesis. [1]

I was about to click the link on the gty.org website the other day, but got side-tracked. So thanks. Smile.png

I'm kind of wary of stories like "Heaven is for Real," because they might be true and yet they might not. I do believe that God can send people visions of heaven, but I don't believe that people can die and then come back to life, having witnessed heaven. At the Last Judgment and the Resurrection then, maybe. But not now. "For it is appointed to man once to die, and after this the judgment." (Sorry, can't recall the verse number for the life of me... this happens a lot. *sigh*) But visions? Absolutely. I'm Roman Catholic, and Catholics tell the story of the three children who saw the Blessed Virgin at Fatima. She showed them a vision of Hell. So yes, I believe that reasonably there could be visions of Heaven as well.
