Discussion Topic: Is bad language permitted to be spoken by a Christian?

I think not.

Colossians 4:6, NIV. “Let your conversation be always full of grace, . . . so that you may know how to answer everyone.”

1 Timothy 4:12, NIV. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Ephesians 4:29

"You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

Exodus 20:7

"Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving."

Ephesians 5:4

"Better the poor whose walk is blameless, than a fool whose lips are perverse."

Proverbs 19:1

What do you all think?

You can love the people in the society without loving their sin.

Yes, but you still can't love a society. You can only love the people in it. My logical point has been made on this matter. TS

No, it hasn't, as the society is the group of people. TS

But society has sinfulness shown more up closely then when people are doing it individually. You can love the people individually, but it seems like compromises would have to be made to love a sinful society.

Are you saying you can't love sinful groups of people? Cuz that's what God did... that's the very core of Christianity.

No that is not what I am saying.

You should love the people that God created, but hate their sin.
